From more than 1,400 submitted digital projects from the DACH region I was able to stand out with my approach — among 177 recognised agencies and freelancers.

The award confirms what I have pursued for years as a web designer: a website is not a digital shop window that should only look pretty. It is a tool — and its success can be measured when it builds trust, provides orientation and leads visitors to concrete actions.

Why this award matters more to me than a purely aesthetic prize?

Because high-end design is not an end in itself. A premium website must not only look good — it has to work measurably. Classic design awards often judge layout, typography and visual trends. The Neuro Web Award goes one step further: it asks how a website affects the human brain — in milliseconds, before the user consciously reads or clicks.

The expert jury assesses more than 200 hard criteria from modern brain research and sales psychology. Not as a theoretical model, but as a concrete checklist for real websites in live operation:

User-Guidance: Does the eye find what it is looking for intuitively and without cognitive load?

Vertrauensaufbau: Does the interface create subconscious validation in the first milliseconds?

Performance & structure: Is the code so clean and lean that the page loads before the user blinks?

These three points sound simple. In practice they decide whether someone stays, scrolls and builds trust — or switches to the next tab.

What is the Neuro Web Award — and how is it different?

The Neuro Web Award is an independent award for digital projects assessed by neuropsychological and UX criteria. It is organised in the context of Wirkungswerk — with the claim to understand web design not as pure visual craft, but as the interface between people, brand and decision.

What convinces me about this award: it does not reward template looks or superficial animations. It rewards Wirkung. Websites that guide clearly. That understand hierarchy. That set the right cues — without shouting. And that are technically clean enough that nothing stands between message and user.

That es.design is among the 2026 winners means one thing above all: the approach I take for companies in the Odenwald, the metropolitan region and across Germany meets international standards — not only in theory, but in practice.

Neuropsychological web design: what is behind it

Neuropsychological web design sounds complex. At its core it means something simple: people decide faster than they think. Studies show again and again that the first impression of a website is formed in fractions of a second — often before a single sentence has been read.

In that short time the brain unconsciously answers questions such as: Does this look professional? Does this match what I am looking for? Can I trust this? Is this serious — or interchangeable?

This is exactly where my work begins. I combine:

Visuelle Hierarchie — so the eye knows where to look first

Sales psychology — so content does not just inform, but prepares decisions

Technische Performance — so that speed is a given, not something that has to be noticed extra

Klare UX-Struktur — so every page has a job and does not try to do everything at once

The result is websites that do not look like a “builder”, but like a considered brand. And that convert better precisely because they work humanly, not just visually.

What the award means for companies

If you are an entrepreneur or freelancer planning a new website, you face many offers. Some cheap, some expensive, some fast, some lengthy. The difference is rarely in the price alone — but in whether the website actually works for you in the end.

The Neuro Web Award 2026 is an external proof for my clients that my approach works. Not as a marketing phrase, but as independent confirmation by an expert jury. That is especially relevant if you work in industries where trust is everything: consulting, crafts, health, agency services, premium services.

An award-winning website must do three things at once:

Professionell wirken — vom ersten Blick an

Guide clearly — without visitors having to search

Trigger actions — enquiries, appointments, purchases, contact

That is exactly the standard I measure every project at es.design against. Not: “Do I like this design?” But: “Does this work for my audience?”

This is how I work at es.design — the award as confirmation, not as coincidence

I deliberately work differently from large agencies with rigid processes — and differently from low-cost providers with ready-made templates. At es.design you get:

Strategie vor Pixel. Before I design layouts, we clarify audience, offer, positioning and the one goal the website should have. Without that foundation even the most beautiful design is only decoration.

Design with a system. Colours, typography, spacing and components follow a logic — not chance. That creates recognition, trust and a website that still feels coherent in two years.

Code that thinks along. Performance, SEO structure and clean implementation are not an add-on for me, but part of the concept. Slow websites do not only cost rankings — they cost trust.

The Neuro Web Award 2026 confirms for me that this path is the right one. Not as an endpoint, but as an incentive to approach every next project at least as carefully.

Conclusion: design that works — not just looks good

For my clients the award means: you do not get interchangeable off-the-shelf templates from me. You get a digital identity that builds trust on a scientific basis and turns nameless visitors into predictable customers.

If you want a website that does not just collect admiration, but Ergebnisse liefert, then neuropsychologically grounded web design is not a luxury — it is the most sensible start.

You can find the full winners list at the Neuro Web Award. And if you want to know how your current website performs in trust, structure and performance — get in touch. That is exactly why I developed my free SEO and UX check.

Full 2026 winners list at the Neuro Web Award →

A design award judges looks — the Neuro Web Award measures impact.
